A Guide for presenters
This page is intended to provide guidelines to Office DevCon presenters, to help them target their audience.
Target audience
Office DevCon is targeted at experienced Office developers and power users - not managers or beginners. The target audience are people who create or maintain business systems for a living, or who use Office System products at a very high level. Although mid-range developers do attend, we are roughly aiming at people just like yourself.
Session content guidelines
Sessions should preferably be 400 level, or higher. Sessions less than 300 level will not be approved.
As our presenters typically have direct access to Microsoft, and therefore have knowledge and experience that is not accessible by the general Office System community, it is this knowledge and experience that you will be imparting (within the constraints of NDA), so your sessions should show the audience how to solve business problems in new, advanced and/or innovative ways.
We want to show the audience how to do things they don't currently know how to do, or didn't know was possible. If you intend to show new features, then show the audience how to use those new features to solve shortcomings in previous versions, or how to solve a business problem.
Give the audience something practical they can take away and apply in their environments.
